BOWLING
AT ISLAND BAY
ONE-DAY, TOURNAMENT
For its tournament to-day in aid o£ the earthquake relief fund, the Island Bay Bowling Club received quite a good entry of teams, and, in spite of rain early this morning, the matches i were commenced under favourable conditions. The wind did not seriously affect the play, and the greens played well. Before the luncheon adjournment was taken two rounds had been completed and a third was under way.
The following are the results of games completed up to time of going to press:—
SECTION A.
. First Bound.—King (Victoria) 8, Jenkins (Island Bay) 5; Reid (Lyall Bay) 11, Wells (Hataitai) 4; Barker (Newtown) 8, Nalder (Khandallah) 6; Herron (Island Bay) 7, Palmer (Island Bay) 5.
Second Round.—Herron 11, Nalder 10; Barker 12, Palmer 7; Reid 8, Jenkins 7; Wells 13, King 5.
