APPEAL IN INDIA FAILS
CONGRESS UP IN ARMS

The Lahore High Court rejected the appeal of Bhagat Singh aiut Kajguru and Sukhdev against the sentence of death in connection with the: murder of Mr. Curtis, a police oflieor, at Lahore iast year, and the men are likely to be executed to-morrow morning. The failure of the efforts to obtain commutation of the sentence has created a tense feeling in Congress circles throughout India, and the Bombay Provincial. Congress Committee passed, a resolution urging /the forthcoming Congress session at Karachi to restart civil disobedience, if the men are executed. Mr. .Gandhi asked that all Congress demonstrations at Karachi cease if the men are executed, and there is a possibility' that the session will be abandoned.
