Sir Cyril and Lady Ward, who came to Wellington last week to meet Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Ward, have returned to Christchureh. Sir George and Lady Elliot, Auckland, will arrive in Wellington- tomorrow, and will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. Morton Paterson, Wadestown, till Saturday, when they will leave by the Eangitata for England. Mrs. E. Harston, Geneva, who has been staying with her sister, Mrs. Frank Grear,-Karon, is now the guest of Mr. and Mrs. George Shirteliffo, Tinakori road. Mrs. J. C. Schneider, Wadestown, who has been the guest of Mrs. 0. 0. Davis, "Ferndale," Avonside, Christchureh, returned to Wellington this morning. Miss G. Trolove, "The Shades," Marlborough, who has been staying with Miss Helen Whyte, Talavora terrace, left to-day for a short visit to Palmerston; North. Miss Carncross has arrived in Wellington from Elthani. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Wilson, Geneva, who have spent several months in New Zealand, left by the Monowai to-day for San Francisco, on their return journey. Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and Miss Dorothy Anderson, Christehurch, will leave next month for a trip to England. Mr. and Mrs. David Coutts loft Wellington to-day by the Monowai for a tour of America, England, and Europe. Mrs. Grear, who has been staying with Mrs. W. Priest, Timaru, left today for Christchureh. She will spend the week-end in Ghristehnreh before returning to Wellington. Mrs. M. Dennehy, Highland Park, returned to Wellington yesterday by the Monowai after a trip to England and the Continent. Mrs. Rowland Hill, To Kuiti, who has been staying with Mrs. Bowon, Christchureh, left yesterday for the North Island. Mrs. Malcolm Miller, Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs. J. Guinness, Ealing, is now staying with her mother, Mrs. Edgar-Jones, " Otiritiri," South Canterbury. The engagement has been announced in London of Eoland St. George Tristram Harper, only son of Lieut.-Colonel and Mrs. Tristram Harper, of Hascombe, Surrey, and 7, Thorncy Court, W.B, and Ellinor Mary, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Alexander E. Boord, of Coney Hill, Hayes Common, and Mrs. Boord, of 25, Arlington road, ' Eastbourne (states "The Posf's representative). "Among the New Zealanders recently in Londfon, "The Post's" representative mentions the following Wellington people:—Mrs. N. E. Bower, Miss G. Boddam, Mr. D. T.
