FURTHER RISE
PRICE OF WOOL
THE WANGANUI SALE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
WANGANUI, This Day
Wool values were firm at the Wanganui jale yesterday, the third of the season at • this centre, and in some cases they showed an advance of one halfpenny on Wellington prices. '-.'.< The percentage! passed from the combined catalogue of .18,000. bales was practically nil, nearly all brokers . reporting total clearances —if not under the hammer, then by private treaty after tne sale.
Wanganui wool invariably includes a good deal of inferior and seedy classes, and taking the quality into consideration, •the sale all through was1 a good one, reflecting an; upward trending market.-When prices were at their lowest ebb at the Wanganui sale in January, the average price per bale worked out.at roughly £5 13?. Yesterday .it reached . approximately £0. Brokers anticipate that firm ■'values ■will be .-maintained-' until the. end of the sc/ison. .•,.-■ ■'..--,'.. ■ • '..-■'■ - .
