HUTT PARK TROTS

LITTLE WORK THIS

MORNING

Conditions for training at the Hutt Park this morning were ideal, but there was little fast work, owing to 1 the grass track not being opened. All ( work-was done'on the cinder track. Chenaway and Effigy, two of L. O. i Thomas's team to race at Manawatu, are in good order. Both shaped nicely in. their trial on Saturday, particularly Chenaway, and he should be very hard to beat. Zolla was worked a mile and a quarter, being picked up by Slogan at the mile post. Slogan worked m patches, while ZolJa was not very impressive. does not appear to bo right, lhefull journey took 3min, the last half imin-lOsee. Purser -was given a, nnle find a nail, which took 3min 3osec. He moved very nicely, and appears to be very fit. Brent Zolock was doing pace work. This; horse has never looked better, which points to him running a great raco on Saturday. Last Saturday ho was responsible for a very fast mile. .Huia Maid, who is to race at Manawatu to-morrow, is in good shape. Since winning here at the last meeting she has improved vastly, and she may be hard to beat. Bluo and Gold, looking in nice orclcr, was given plenty of solid pace work which, she got through in a capable manner. Jean. Parrish was worked a mile and a quarter which she got through in a pleasing manner. This filly is a promising sort, and she may make a decent showing on Saturday.
