The Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, and many members of tli« House of Commons and representatives of the employees in every in* dustry have signed a manifesto call* ing on the nation to observe Indus* trial Sunday on 26th April. The manifesto, inter alia, says:-r "A great crusading army is needed to stand for righteousness and truth against the existing social evils and injustices for the quickening of real brotherhood in social and industrial life." ' A similar manifesto, drafted by Lord Luke and signed by leading employers, describes Industrial Sunday as a great constructive effort, and urges on "all individuals the necessity to apply the fundamental principles of Christianity in industry, commerce, and finance. The Archbishop of Canterbury declares that the observance of Industrial Sunday indicates the spirit! which ought to govern industrial relations. The Church should do its utmost to make the rule of Christian principles prevail.
