PARIS, 21st March. The appearance of the spirit of Henri Landru caused a free fight at a seance. A member of the audionce asked the medium to communicate with Landru, but when th« presence of the French Bluebeard's spirit was announced a wordy warfare broke out and developed with such violence that the occupants of adjoining flats called* in the police, who broke up tho meeting and sent the spiritualists home. Tho case of Henri Landnt, the socalled "Bluebeard of Gambais," provided one of tho greatest sensations of criminal history in France. At his trial it was established that ho had murdered 11 women between 1914 and 1919. He had an amazing power over women of all types, and each victim lived with him. quite happily until her death. "When brought to book, Landru, who was a. medical man, put up a strenuous defence, and three years passed before.he was convicted and executed.
