SEATOUN BASKETBALL CLUB

The third annual meeting of the Seatoun Basketball Club was held in the Seatoim Kiosk last week. Mrs.' Allan presided, and there was a good attendance of old and new members. The report showed that the club held a prominent position in basketball activities during the past season. The fourth and fifth grades were successful in winning the seven-a-side tournaments, and also reached the championship finals in their respective grades. The Seatoun Club's candidate was runner-up in the Queen Cai-nival. • The election of officers for the coming season resulted as follows:—Patroness, Mrs. Troup; president, Mrs. Murie; vicepresidents, Mesdames Allan and Lancaster, Messrs. C. Webb, B. Doherty, H. B. Hornibrook, M. Brackley, J. Pease, P. C. Luxford, A. Day, G. Jones, C. B. Ellis, Norris, G. Pettit, Keith, Spiers, Ellison, Klee, and Dr. Hogg; secretary, Miss E. Mansfield; treasurer, Miss C. Norris; club captain, Miss E. Bell; Press steward, Miss U. Doherty; delegates to Wellington Basketball Association, Mrs. Allan, Misses M. Doherty, U. Doherty, and E. Mansfield. It was decided to commence practice immediately. The members were very enthusiastic, and this augurs well for a'successful season. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mrs. Doherty for the use of her room, and to the retiring officers for the services they have rendered the club. '
