REMITS FOR CONFERENCE'
MTfjhe year jtist passod has been a strenuous one for the referees, due largely to the visit of the British team," states t-lio annual report of the New Zealand Referees' Association, -"and the executive desires to thank all affiliated associations for thoir support throughout one of tho most important years in the history of Eugby football in New Zealand." "With regard to the next conference, io be held at Hamilton at Easter, tho report states:—"lt is the earnest'desire of the executive that every association be represented, as it is the discussion and interchange of ideas at these conferences that do more to ensure uniform rulings throughout New Zealand than any amount of correspondenco that may pass. Uniformity of ruling is one of the principal objects ot this association, and while it can be claimed that a high degree of uniformity has been attained, yet there is still room for improvement." Notice has been given of the following motions to be moved at the conference: — ' ■ . , . . By Otagt>.—"That appointment for inter-provincial matches should be made by local appointment boards. By Canterbury.-" That it bo ancommendation from the N.Z.R.R.A. that front-rank players must not Mt their feet until the ball is fairly m tho scrummage." By North otago.— "That-evcry member of an association affiliated with the N.Z.R.R.A. bo provided_ with a ticket entitling him to admission to any Rugby match played under the iurisdictdon of the N.Z. Bugby Union." 3 By Nelson.-(1) "That all front-row players in a sot scrummage be not allowed to lift their feet until the Ball is in the scrummage. " (2) " The restoration of the advantage rule applying to line-outs." (3) "That on the call of time play shall cease irrespective of the position of the ball at half or .full time and that this matter be referred to the English Bugby Union for their consideration." <«rpi, n + By South Canterbury.—(l)' -that the 1932 conference and annual meetins be held in Timaru."
