BOXING.
TO-NIGHT'S TOURNAMENT.
Thomas, Hie American featherweight, will be making his second appearance at the John Street Stadium to-night, when he will be opposed by Blay, probably the best Australian exponent ever seen in Wellington. Thomas on his first appearance was obviously nervous and not acclimatised to New Zealand conditions, in addition to which lie was opposed to a clever ring general in Hughes, whose tactics as a spoiling fighter are well known in Australia. To-night the American should bo seen at bis best, for he is reported to be at the top of his form, and will enter the ring with confidence in his ability to give the Australian the hardest contest of his career. With what promises to be five excellent preliminaries to the main bout, the tournament should provide patrons with a high-class: entertainment, and indications are that (here "ill be a larur attendance.
