CLAIM FOR £280

Proceedings taken hy Alexander Martin, furniture manufacturer, who claims £280 7s 2d from Edward Charles Teffs and John Richard. Pearson, restaurant proprietors, were commenced at the Magistrate's Court on 'Friday before Mr. T. B. M'Neil, S.M. After some evidence had been heard the Magistrate adjourned the case until Friday next to enable him to look into the legal aspect of a technical point raised by Mr. K. P. Hay, who appeared for Martin. • In his statement. Martin held that on 21st July, 1930, he agreed with Teffs and Pearson to carry out alterations and furnishings in premises occupied by them in To del's buildings. The contract price was £861. Further alterations and furnishings wore carried out at an extra cost of £.319 4s Bd. Teffs and Pearson paid £900 between 6th August and 4th October, 1930, so that the amount still owing was £.280 7s 2d.
