RANDWICK ROAD RAMP
In reply to representations by Mr. Walter Nash, M.P., to the Minister of Public Works in connection with the dangerous condition of the ramp on Randwick road, the Minister has written that the ramp is under tho control of the Lower Hutt Borou"h Council. He understood that tor some time tho road over the ramp was not kept in proper repair, some inconvenience bei)v caused thereby, but was advised that there was now an improvement. J.be width of the ramp was 30 feet, the roadway being 20 feet wide, with two tve feet footpaths, and it would certainly appear that this should give sufficient width lor all the traffic using the ramp at present. In any case, this width was considered sufficient for the traffic at the time the ramp was built, and if any further widening was now considered necessary it would appear to be a matter for tho consideration and attention of the Lower Hutt Borough Cuncil. Commenting on the reply, the Mayor of Lower Hutt, Sir Alexander Eoberts, stated that while his council would like the ramp widened, it had no funds for this purpose at the present time.
