]\[vs... Charles Birch, Murphy street, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. Arthur Russell, Palmerston North.-. Mrs. R. Beßttington, Sydney, arrived in Wellington this morning by the Moiiowai. She will be the guest of her mother, Mrs. T. H.-Lowry, Okawa, Hawkes Bay. • Miss Lucy Huddleston, Timaru, who has been the guest of Mrs. Nieholls, Lower Hutt, returned homo on Saturday evening. ■ , Mrs. €L Price, who has been visiting India, returned to .Wellington this morning by the Moriowai. ■ Mrs. 0. Hamley, Mr. and Mrs. A. Barnet, and Mr. T.; Barhett arrived in Wellington ■ this morning by the Monowai from Sydney. Mrs. Frank Grear, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. W. Priest, Timaru. Mr. and Mrs. L. Berseh and Misses G. and B. Berseh were passengers today by the Monowai from Sydney. They will visit Hawkes Bay before leaving for Englai by .the Rangitata on Saturday next. Mrs. Redvers, Napier, who has been staying with Mrs. E. 0. M'Cullough, Ohristehureh, has returned to the North Island. Mrs. T. B. Sewell arrived in Wellington this morning by the Monowai from Sydney. * Miss W. Scarlett, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs.' E. Reid, Suinuer, Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. L. O. MacDougall," who have been touring the North Island, have returned to Christchurch. Miss de Lambert, Oamaru, is a visitor to Wellington. Mrs. W. Duncanson- Houston will leave Wellington to-morrow by the Monowai for England. Mrs. Houston will visit her sons' graves in France, and afterwards will stay with relatives in Scotland and Ireland. Mrs. O. Samuel returned to Wellington last week from an overseas tour. Mr. and Mrs. W. &, O'Brien, Island Bay, gave a very enjoyable party recently in honour of their daughter, Miss Annie O'Brien. A large number of relatives and friends were present, and the evening was spent in dancing. Miss Philippa Nairn, Hastings, who has been visiting Christehurch and Timaru, has returned north. Miss I. Searisbrick, Darwcn, England, who is at present in Wellington, has been on a tour extending over several months in the Dominion, and recently visited the earthquake area with Mrs. Maudsley, of Takapau, with whom she has been visiting. She will return to England by the Rangitata on Saturday. A pleasant farewell party was given by Mrs. B. Briekman at her home in Onepu road, Lyall Bay, when Miss Minnie Briekman, Who is leaving by the Monowai to visit America, was the guest of honour. Beautiful pink and mauve asters were used in decoration of the rooms, and the many guests had a delightful afternoou
