CHILD'S FATAL FALL

MASTEBTON, This Day. ■ Harold Samuel Pearce, four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Pearce, of 8, Sussex street, Mastert.cn, died early yesterday morning -as the Tesult of a fall from the running board of a moving motor-car. .The accident occurred latjo on Saturday afternoon, when Mr. and Mrs. Pearce arid their son returned from a drive. Both Mr. Pearce and the child left the car on arrival at their residence to open the gate leading into the drive. Instead of re-entering the car the child stood on the running-board, holding on to the door for support. The car moved off sloWly, but about half-way down the drive the child fell. The car was stopped' immediately and the child was picked up. He was dazed, but showed no outward sign of injury. Later he complained of feeling unwell, and a doctor was summoned, but he died at 2 O'clock yesterday morning.
