SEVERAL FATALITIES
CAR CAPSIZES
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WAIPUKURAU, This Day.
Arthur M'Donald Snelling,,aged 24 years, single, a stock agent, was killed instantly on the Tamumu-Patangata road on Saturday evening. The deceased, with a friend, Georgo Winlove, was driving in a high-pow-ered car, and when rounding a corner they came suddenly'upon a mob . of sheep. Winlove, who was driving, applied the brakes, but the tire rim of the front right wheel came off. The car swerved, towards a bank, struck a deep wash-out, and turned over on its side. Winlove was thrown clear, but Snelling was pinned by the hood of the car, and his neck was dislocated. An inquest will be held on Wednesday. The deceased was a son of, Mr. Thomas Snelliag, .of Makotuku, and one of the most popular young men i Waipukurau and district. He was a Rugby footballer and an all-round-athlete.
