COMPANY'S LIQUIDATION
QUESTIONS FOR COURT
Fifteen or more counsel were present in. the Supreme Court to-day when his Honour Mr. Justice Blair, on an application made by the liquidator of'the Hansford and Mills Construction Co., Ltd., was asked to decide a'very largo number of questions that had arisen in the* course of the liquidation of the company. The greater part of to-day's proceedings was set aside for consideration of the question of liens by sub-contractors and others in respect of the various contracts in lyind at the time of the liquidation. The contracts mentioned were those of the new milk station, the new St. Patrick's College, the Mount Victoria tunnel, and the War Memorial. After some discussion between his Honour and counsel, it was agreed to dispose first of the claims for liens which were uncontested by the liquidator; secondly with contested liens; and thirdly with the validity of various orders , given by the company to creditors in respect of moneys owing !to the company. In all probability j proceedings will last two days or j longer. Mr. W. Perry appeared for the liquidator of the company; Mr. 3. O'Shea ! (City Solicitor) for the Wellington City Corporation and Mr. J. F. B. Stevenson for the receiver appointed by the debenture holder. Other counsel present represented lien holders or order holders. !
