The aeroplane 564, in which Mai* dalona Cecconi achieved a duration re« cord, crashed near Leghorn after ailj oxplosion. The cockpit was found bur» ied in the sand in eight fathoms of water near the shore. The petrol tank was recovered 300 yards off shore. Tha body of one occupant named Damonta was found and two other bodies arJ| believed to be in the wreckage.
