BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY,
A most 011.i0y.1ble entertainment was •riven on Wednesday evening at the rooms of the British Sailors' Society by Miss C. Conlon and party, to a very large and Milhusiastic audience ot seafarers. Ji.acn I'lcin was greeted w'.th applause, the performers having to respond with encore after encore. An item of especial mtorest was the lightning sketches by Mr. S. Philpott; these were much appreciated and caused merriment amongst the men. At the conclusion of the programme community sinning w-as indulged in, the singiii" by the men being good to listen to. A vole of thanks to Miss Conlon and party was proposed by the secretary, and was carried with acclamation and cheers, alter which supper was handed round by the workers of the society, (he evenine ron-i-ludiiis; with the singing of the National Anthem.
