These roads are known as "autostrades," and it will soon be possible for a motorist to ..make a non-stop drive from Torino, at the top of the Italian boot, to Keggio at its toe. This new type.of highway has already been' completed in many sections of Italy and is typical of what the Italian highways between northcm and southern Italy will bo. They are of cement, carefully graded, wide enough to permit tho'passage of three cars, and have all intersecting roads passing either overhead or underneath.
