SHEEPSKINS IN DEMAND
(Received -'Ist March, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 20th.March. The total .offerings to-day at the London March series of wool sales was UlO.l bales. About 03 per cent, of the wool was sold. There; was but a poor supply of New Zealand merinos. Strong competition was experienced, the Home trade being especially active. Prices were firmly maintained. localisations were: New Zealand, greasy crossbreds, "Oruamatu," oVacl to 9%d; BH over P, 10%d'to lOVid. Messrs/> Dalpety and Company report, London, 19th March: '"London wool sales continue active, with brisk competition, very full clearances. Home trade buyers operating freely, Continental buyers operating more freely than at opening, escept Germany, whc# are rather quiet. As compared with closing rates of last series: Merino, super, lo per cent, higher; average and inferior merinos, broken fleece and pieces, 20 per cent, to 30 per cent.; fine crossbred greasy, 20 per cent, to 25 per cent.; medium and coarse crossbred greasy, 25 per cent, to 30 per cent.; good slipe, 15 per cent, to 20 per cent.; inferior and faulty slipe, 25 per cent, to 30 per «ent.; lambs, 1.0 per cent.; all higher."
