WEDDINGS

The wedding whs celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Merivale, Christchurch, of Loonio Daisy, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Craytliorne, Clifton Spur, Sumner, and Arthur, oldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Kac, Matawai, Gisbornc. Archdeacon P. B. Haggitt officiated, and Mr. Alfred Worslcy was at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a model own of heavy ivory silk Brussels net, made with close-fitting bodice and long full skirt. The front of the bodice and skirt were richly embroidered in pale rose velvet and gold tracery, and the nu-row belt was finished with a diamante buckle. Her embroidered veil, which formed a. train, was worn off tho face, and firraiifrcd vl trails or" orange blossom. She carried ;i bou(iiiGt'of salmon begonias and carnations. The bridesmaids, Misses Noelmc Crayiliornc and Marjorio Irwin, worr; frocks of ivory ninon, the skirls being eomposo'l on ti»v frilly. Tlio sleeveless bodices were' finished with brilliant buckles, ami capes of blush pink velvet with high collars of flowers. Each wore a crystal iieckct (the gift of the

bridegroom), and their bonnet-shaped hats were of silver net, edged with brilliants. They carried bouquets of pink roses. A tiny flower girl, Dawn Hardy, wore ;i replica of the bridesmaids' frocks without a cape, and carried a pink and mauve posy. Mr. Lester Newton was best man, and Mr. Walter Baker groomsman. Messrs. J. Mitchell, N. Hawkens, and Kclloway were ushers at tho church. After the ceremony Miss Dulcie Mitchell sang a solo. A reception was held later at the residence of tho bride's parents, Clifton [spur, Sumner, about eighty guests being present. Mrs. Craythorne wore a sleeveless gown of black ring velvet heavily embroidered in silver, and a cape of velvet and brocade; her toque hat was of black and steel chenille, and she carried a bouquet of pink hothouse flowers. A dance was held ni the lounge, which was decor"ted with bowls of pink and white dahlias and hydrangeas. When the bride left later by ear, she wore a deep saxe blue threepiece suit of crepe de chine, with a chenille jumper; her coat of Lido blue cloth had a high surplice -ollar of grey fur, and she wore a beret hat of Lino blue felt. Mr. and' Mrs. Arthur Eae will take up their residence in Wellington.

A recent wedding solemnised at St. James's Presbyterian Church, Wellington, was that of Agnes Barr, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Paxton, Ncwtown, and Charles, elder son of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Murray, Aberdeen, Scotland. The Eev. W. E, Milne performed tho ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of ivory crepe satin. Her veil of cream net was worn with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies tied with tartan streamers. There were two bridesmaids, Misses Margaret Sinclair and Margaret Paxton, whose dainty frocks were of hydrangea blue mariette. They wore crinoline hats to match, and carried bouquets of tea roses. Mr. Eobert Paxton was best man, and Mr. John Paxton groomsman, t lucky horseshoe of autumn flowers was presented to the bride as sho left the church by Marjorie Dean. The bridegroom's gifts to the bridesmaids were necklaces. The wedding reception was held at the Mokoia Hall, where Mrs. Paxton, who received the guests, wore a frock and coatee of brown georgette aud lace, and a hat to match. Her bouquet was of autumn flowers. The evening was spent in dancing and games, Mr. E. Cowie officiating as master of ceremonies.
