PRICE OF ONIONS.

Onions are meeting with a steady retail demand in Auckland, ■which should increase once the cold -weather seta in. Any attempt to raise the price for local onions is offset by stocks of Melbourne onions held on the spot, and the prospect of early shipments from the South. At the moment Melbourne onions are selling through Auckland stores at from 8s 6d to 9r, a cwt.
