REGIONAL PLANNING
AN INFORMAL TALK
In accordance with a recent decision of the City Council, the Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup, called representatives of the local bodies in the Wellington district together this week to talk ov-cr in an informal way the question of regional planning for tho whole area, a matter on which there is some difference of opinion. No decisions were arrived at, nor was it intended that that should be so at that meeting, said Mr. Troup to-day. The idea was rather to obtain the views of representatives as to .(he steps which should bo taken at the- formal meeting. The general opinion, he said, wns that it would bo o£ little use to set up a committee which might be upset by Ihe local body elections, to be held in n few weeks. Another meeting would bo called a little Inter, said Mr. Troup. and the wholo question would be gone into.
