MINISTERIAL RESIDENCES.
,Tlio allegation that the Government had purchased Ministerial residences and had not made use of them for the purpose for which they had been bought was made by. Mr. H. S. S. Kyle (Reform, Eieearton) in the House of Representatives last night. "The Government two and a half years ago purchased residences because there were not sufficient residences for Ministers of the Crown." said Mr. Kyle. "These houses have nevdr been occupied by Ministers of the Crown. Thoy are, I believe, being occupied by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. This only goes to show the extravagance of the Government, and now they arc putting in the axe.''
