ATHLETES FOR MOTUEKA
As m previous years, a team of Wellington athletes and cyclists will be visiting Motueka at Easter to compete at a meeting arranged by the Motueka Amateur Athletic Club. So far those making the trip are:—Mr. A. C. Kitto (manager) and Mrs. Kitto, M. Gane, C. H. Jenkins, J. T. Fleming, C. Clark, J. Jarvis, F. Brady, W. Fisher, W. Sutherland, and V, Klee, of the Wellington Club; W. Ogg, C. Brown, F. Jones (Olympic); M. Furlong (Kiwi); E. Edwards (Miramar); G. Clark (Petone); A. Mexted (Porirua), Misses C. Millar, E. Blatherwick, K. Rutland, E. Sharp, G. Edwards, S. Corbott, M. Deslandes, and O. Lawler. The team will leave Wellington on 2nd April, and compete at Motueka on Gth April, returning here on 7th April. At the- meeting Brady, who is the Hew Zealand high jump and pole vault champion, will attempt to beat the New Zealand pole vault record of lift 3 5-Bin, established last year by W, J. Batstone (Canterbury), who in the event at the New Zealand championship meeting last month was second to Brady.
