A slight wave of low pressure crossed the South Island last night, moving along the southern edge of an anticyclone which has been passing slowly across New Zealand. Winds have become northerly nearly everywhere and have freshened in and south of Coolt Strait. Tho southernmost districts have had showers since last night, and there have also been isolated falls in tho Capo Egmont region. Otherwise fair weather has continued to prevail, although conditions generally arc not now so pleasant as they were yo6terday, when brilliant weather was the rule.
