Blueberry Jam
The 'housewife who wants a change from raspberry and apricot and peach and air the either usual kinds of jam may be able to obtain a new variety of fruit in the future. This is the bluer berry, which up to now has been hardly heard of in New Zealand, but which in America rivals the . strawberry as a juicy delicacy, states a Christchurch paper. About three years ago a local nurseryman introduced a: blueberry plant or two into his nursery at Belfast, and the, other day some of the berries were to, be seen-on the, counter of his shop.. Their name describes them very well, and in size they range from a black currant to a small cherry. Their taste is a pleasant one, and the jam.is reputed to be delicious. ; The plants grow like a currant bush. \
