MATTHEWS RETURNING

BY STEAMER TO CALCUTTA

BRISBANE, 20th February. Captain Matthews, the aviator, arrived aboard the Marella from Darwin with portions of his aeroplane. He intends to- continue by steamer to Calcutta, whence he will fly to London.

After waiting at Darwin for a. favourable opportunity to hop off on an Australia-England flight,- Captain Matthews abandoned the plan. He had many disappointments because of adverse weather.
