PROMOTION BOARD
In accordance with the regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, a postal ballot was held on Wednesday for the purpose of electing to the Post and Telegraph Promotion Board a representative for the ensuing three years of the officers of the Department. The candidates for election were Mr. Hugh M'AUister Patrick, supervisor, Public Service Garage, Wellington, the sitting representative, and Mr. E_rnest Alfred Thompson, assistant supervisor, delivery section, Telegraph branch, Christchurch. ■ The result of the election was as under: — Patrick, H. M 4120 J ' Thompson, E. A 1910 Informal 26 Majority for Mr. Patrick 2210.
The Promotion Board consists of the Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department (Mr. G. M'Namara), the Chief Telegraph Engineer (Mr. A. Gibbs), the First Assistant Secretary (Mr. J. Kobertson),' the Second Assistant Secretary (Mr. W. J. Gow), and the elective member (Mr. Patrick).
