HARMONIC SOCIETY

SUCCESSFUL YEAR

Notwithstanding the difficult period through which musical organisations generally have been passing, the Wellington Harmonic Society, according to the'sixteenth annual report, is able to record another most successful as well as busy season. The number of subscribing members |at the close of the season was 188, and the society finished the year with 57 active members. Three subscription concerts were given in 1930, and a performance of "The Messiah" was given in aid of the Red Cross unemployment fund. This realised £84 12s Bd. The society also took part in the Anzac Day i services and Music Week.

The year has been a successful one financially, and with strict economy the society has come out on the right-side of the ledger, after spending £1? 16s •id on new music. The library is now valued at £110.
