2YA AND THE EARTHQUAKE

■ The "Post" has received several letters, all similar in purport, in reference to the remarkably fine service carried out by 2YA after tho Hawkes Bay disaster. The staff of the station provided, as if utterly tireless, ■ a prolonged "news service" relating to earthquake refugees, such as no other existing medium could have given. For those not personally interested, tho long series of personal messages was not at all entertaining, but anyone who found it dreary must have appreciated all the more the patience and courtesy that inspired it. There can be no doubt that the broadcasting service must have helped to reunito many anxious families and friends, and to dispel .fear from many who had failed otherwise to regain touch with those who had gone missing in the turmoil of transportation.
