ANNUAL MEETING

(By Telegraph.l—Press Association.) BOTORUA, This Day. At the annual meeting of tho Press Association to-day, Mr. E. Abbey Jones presiding, members passed a resolution sympathising with the sufferers in the Hawkes Bay earthquake, and decidod to remit all subscriptions due from the papers affected, amounting to approximately £1350 for the year. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr. A. M. Burns was elected chairman of the board'of directors; Messrs. C. Stanley Smith and W. Easton were re-elected directors, aud Mr. O. G. Kember was re-elected auditor. It was resolved that the next meeting of the association should be held in Auckland. A presentation of a substantial cheque was made to the retiring manager, Mr. AY. H. Atack, to whoso ability and fidelity many tributes wore paid.
