TILDEN'S VISIT
TERMS UNDER DISCUSSION
Negotiations arc proceeding between! the Australian Association and AY. T, Tilucu for a visit to Australia by the American champion, and three other approved; players at the end of this year. At a recent meeting of the council of tha Nevfj South AVales Association, a fetterjgas re« coived from the Australian Association! advising that it had made a definite offelj to Tilden, says the "Sydney Morning HerThe terms offered provide that Tilden: and the other visiting champions ;shaU play in at least six matches in Australia, and in one open champonship. TDden! had previously advised the Australian Association that he would be prepared to' bring a team to Australia i£ suitable terms could be arranged. It was stated that the amount received by the • visiting French players, Borotra, Brugnon, and Boussus during two rrmatlis of their Australian tour amounted w> £44%. Mr. X. E. Brookes-, president _of the. Australian Association, will arrive ia Sydney shortly, when details of the pro* posed visit will be further considered. The Australian Association proposes 4« send a team of four juniors to play a series of matches in Honolulu in March. D, Thompson. B. Moore (Xew South AValen)* Turnbull and Shepherd (South Australia). Tonkin and Purcell (Victoria) and Knight (Tasmania) have been asked _ if they will be available if selected. Tlia' selectors of the team, which will probably; leave Sydney on 7th March, are Messrs, X. E. Brooke;! and F. Peach.
