A SCOTTISH HATRY?
SENSATION IN GLASGOW
MERCHANTS UNDER ARREST
LONDON, 17th February. A sensation was caused in Glasgoir when it became known that thirteen business men had been arrested in connection with the affairs of a £.2,000,----000 company, Scottish Amalgamated Silks Limited, at present in liquidation. Business on the Glasgow Stock Exchange is practically at a standstill while tho news is being discussed. Relatives and friends rushed the police station, whero a number of brief interviews were permitted. Tho accused are expected to appear at the Police Court to-day. In the meantime tho only charge known is against one of the accused, who, it is alleged, formed a fraudulent, schema with others whereby £438,000 subscribed by the public allegedly was ap» propriated to their own use.
