(British Official Wireless.) (Received ISth February, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, 17th February. Tho first of tho great four-engincd (lying boats which Messrs, Short Brothers, of Rochester, havo built for Imperial Airways is being launched this week. It will bo used over tho sea and along tho Nile on the route to the Cape, which is shortly to be opened. A Handley-Page 40-seater land machine is also completing its initial trials. Both craft before the service begins will undergo the customary Air Ministry official flying trials. They are much bigger and considerably faster than any existing commercial machines.
