REPATRIATION PERMITS

(By Telcgrap.h—Press Association.) HASTINGS, 17th February. In connection with general repatriation to tho devastated area, the Hastings authorities desire it to be clearly understood that permits to retjurn through the police pickets, and other permits now in existence, do not entitle the refugee to a free railway journey back. Tho railway will accept only a special permit clearly laying out the purpose for which it is issued, and signed by the officer in charge of central registration. Further announcements will be made as to the procedure to obtain general repatriation permits.
