THE LATEST FIGURES
A decrease of 554 in the number of unemployed in New Zealand is revealed in the figures for tho week ended 9th February, released by the Minister of Labour (tho Hon. S. G. Smith) to-day.
The total number of unemployed is given as 17,002, as against 17,5f>G for the previous week. The figures for the main centres are as follows: —•
Auckland. —With dependents, L'4:SO; without dependents, "217. Total, 4G47 (4400).
Wellington.—With dependents, f>l4; without dependents, 952. Total, 189(3 (2415).
Christchurch. — With dependents, 1005; without dependents, SIS. Total, 1883 (2055). „
Dunedin.—With dependents, 722; without dependents, 734. Total, 145G (1051).
Invercargill.—With dependents, 2G9; without dependents, 135. Total, 404 (309).
