ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In response to further inquiries by Mr. Walter Nash, M.P. for Hutt, in connection with Land Development Schemes, the Hon. E. A. Eansoni, M.P., Minister of Lands, has supplied the following information: — (1) Men will be employed on the cooperative contract system at a price estimated to be the value of a completed job. (2) There will be no provision for men to take their families on to the land during the course of development, the work gonerally being, of a seasonal nature only. (3) Men. employed on road access of development work on an area of land set aside for development who can satisfy the Land Board that they will prove likely settlers will be afforded an opportunity of selecting sections within the development area, provided that in the event of there being a greater number of applicants than there are sections available a ballot will be held. Selected men must produce evidence of ability to stock their sections upon allotment being made.
