GUN GOES OFF
LECKIE'S BROTHER KILLED
(13y Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. While Kichard Leclue, brother of Johnny Leclue, the "well-known boxer, was cleaning a rifle in the backyard at his house, North-east Valley, it went off, and the bullet entered his forehead. Dr. Moody was called, but the man died shortly after the accident. He was single and 20 years of age. At the inquest a verdict was returned that death was due to the accidental discharge of a rifle. Young Lcckio was fast making a name for himself in the amateur ranks, and promised to develop into ono of Otago's best lightweights, having much of Johnny's aggressive fighting spirit. He won several fights, andtook part in the preliminary to the Sarron-Donovan fight here. He was an unassuming young fellow, and a credit 1o the boxing game. Hi: was a very keen gunman, and when the fatal accident, occurred he was making preparation to- go shooting on the following day.
