SLOW PROGRESS IN FRANCE

' Despite reputed French chivalry, th» feminist movement makes slow pro- . gress, and the sight of a woman parading the boulevards, bearing a placard, "Votos for Women," only amused the onlookers. She was the member of an organisation, including prominent figures in literature, on the stage, and at; the Bar, who are planning a refusal to pay taxes so long as they remain without votes.
