(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) . ATJCKLAND, 15th February. In a professional boxing contest at Carlaw Parki'pri Saturday afternoon Bobby Blay, featherweight champion of Victoria, defeated Ai'chie.:. .Hughes, featherweight champion of--New South Wales, on points in fifteen rounds. Blay proved himself one of the cleverest boxers ever seen in Auckland, his defence .being particularly fine. He carried the fight to his opponent practically throughout, and was an easy winner ou points. The bout was arranged by the Northern Boxing Association and the Commercial Travellers' Association in aid of the earthquake relief fund, but the attendance of the public was disappointing, there being only about 3000 present.
