BOXING.
Considerable interest attaches to the first appearance of Thomas, one of the professionals who has come from America, tinder the auspices of the Wellington Bosing Association. He is to meet Hughes en Holiday next, and this affords an opportunity of judging whether or not the visitor is as clever as his record suggests. In Auckland on Saturday last the conqueror of Leckie and Donovan had to show; of his best to score a victory over Hughes^ so that Thomas does not appear to have an easy task. Blay, Thomas, Whitlow, Fairhall. Hughes, and probably Johnny Leckie will be seen in action at the Stadium to-morrow; night in special bouts against local expoßi ents, and a good evening's entertainment should be seen. The gross proceeds am being donated to the Earthquake Fund,
