GARDINER WINS K-OTORUA TOURNEY

(By Telegraph.—-Press Association.) ROTORUA, 13th February. The Kotonuv bowls tournament was won by Gardiner (Otahuhu) after a good game in the final with Ritchie (Carlton). Showers and wind spoiled the last few heads. Bitchie took the lead, and was 5-1 at the sixth head, but failed to keep the pace, and went down, 20-11. Ritchio fought desperately all through, but was outclassed. Section winners were as follows:—A section, Pakes (Botorua); B section, Whittle (Grey Lynn); C section, Ritchie. In the eliminating round, Pakes boat Maxwell Walker (Auckland), 20-12, and in the semi-finals Gardiner boat Wh.it||]c>, 20-12, and Ritchie beat Pakes, 22----|l6.
