WEDDINGS
All Saints' Church, Kilbirnie, .was tastefully decorated recently for the wedding of Eileen May, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Searie, Hataitai, and Thomas Adam, eldest son of Mr* and Mrs. A. Hannah, Hawora. The ceremony was performed by tho Bey. Canon J. H. Sykes. The bride, who was escorted by her father, woro a long flared gown of parchment satin beaute, cut on simple lines with a hip yoke and rucking at the waist, which was finished with a pearl buckle. The long tightfitting sleeves were also rucked and trimmed with pearls. A veil of Brussels lace was worn off tho face, and formed a train. Sho carried a shower bouquet of white lilies and pink carnations, and wore a string of pearls (tho gift ofy the bridegroom). The three
bridesmaids, Misses Ellie -Ashley, Wilma Joy, and Leah" Sommervillo (Taihape), wore long frocks of delphinium blue inariette. cut on classic lines. Th.eir drooping blue felt hats were edged .with crinoline straw and finished at the back with flat bows of rose velvet. They carried bouquets of pink ancl blue flowers, and wore necklets of blue and oxidised silver (tho gifts of the bridegroom). -Mr. Wilfrid Watt was best man, and Messrs. John Hannah and Laurence Searlo- groomsmen. Messrs. Ralph Keanand Dennis Elliot were ushers at.the church. During tho ceremony a solo was sung by Miss Winifred Tricker. Over 200 guests were entertained later at the Realm Hall, Hataitai, where . Mrs. Searle received the guests. She wore a frock of rose marietto and a black Bangkok hat. Her bouquet was .to tone. Mrs. Hannah wore a frock of black crepe de chine trimmed with beige, and a black hat. She carried an autumn-tinted bouquet. Mrs. A. Aplin (aunt of the bride) was in black marictte, and Mrs. W. Brown (Waihou) wore a Lido blue ensemble and hat. The bride's travelling,frock,was of navy floral ninon, with which she wore a navy wool crepe coat and small straw hat. Mr. and Mrs. Hannah's future home will be in Hastings.
