RUSSIAN TIMBER TRADE
PRESSING FOR INQUIRY ■ j
(British Official Wireless.) (Received 12th February, 11 a.m.) BUGBY, lltli February. Asked whether he would appoint a small committee to take the evidence of certain persons lately in Bussia regarding labour conditions in the Russian timber trade, the Foreign Secretary (Mr. A. Henderson) said that he feared that without the provision of any facilities on the part'of the Soviet Government, no inquiry would be satisfactory or effective, and therefore nothing would be achieved by such a committee. . But he would continue to watch the situation closely in case he found any reason to modify this view. j
