STATE TO SELL CHEAP BREAD
BUENOS AIBES, 25th January. The Government, endeavouring to lower the cost of living, has reduced the price of bread from the equivalent of 3% to 2 cents a lb in the public mar- ■ kets. It is announced that a Government bureau will sell 250,0001b of bread daily to make the reduction available to more people. The Government also is advocating a plan to sell all meat through a Government bureau, allowing retail butchers a profit of only 1 cent a lb.
