WOOL MARKET
LONDON SALES
(Received 27th January, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 26th January. At the wool -sales 8139 bales were offered, including 430 from New Zealand. Approximately 5940 bales wefe sold. There was a good offering of greasy clip wools and a moderate lot of scoureds. Friday's improved tone was maintained. Quotations were unchanged. New Zealand greasy crossbred CGC 5%d, 5%d. At Bradford there' was some inquiry, but at a very low figure. CrossbTeds were stagnant and prices almost nominal. Messrs.! Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London agents, dated 26th January, 1931: "The auctions are proceeding at the level of the opening day. There is practically no competition from France. A fair quantity of the wool available will not be offered. The following prices are current:—Merino, super 9%d to lid, average 7%d to 8d; fine halfbred, super 56/58's -8d to 9d,r average 7d to 7%d; medium halfbred, super 50/56's 6%d to 7%d, average fid to 6%d; coarse, super 48/50's 5%d to , R^sd, average V s%d; fine crossbred, super 46/48's 5%d to 6%d, average 5%d; medium crossbred, super 44/46's 5%d to 6d, average o'/id; coarse crossbred, super 40/44's 5%d, average 5%d; low crossbred, super 36/40's SV&d, average sd; pieces, 4%d; bellies, 4%d; locks, 2d."
