FIRE AT WAIOTAPU

HOTEL, P. 0., AND STORE NOTHING SAVED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ROTORUA, This Day. The Waiotapu Hotel, Post Office-, and store were completely destroyed by fire at an early hour this morning, nothing being saved,' the proprietor and staff escaping in their night attire. Owing to the wires being down, details are meagre. The building was erected 38 years ago by Mr. John Faloona, the licence being owned by Mr. L. D. Nathan. Tho present proprietor, Mr. John Hickey, had been in possession for 27 years. In the coaching days the hotel was one"of the most frequented in the thermal regions. It was situated in an angle of the main road leading to Taupo and MuTupara, in tho centre of a vast afforestation area.
