RIFLE SHOOTING

ANNUAL PRIZE MEETING.

The j annual prize meeting of the Wellington " Rifle Association takes place at Trentham to-morrow, and from the number of entries received there is every prospect of a most successful field day. An encouraging' feature is the interest displayed by the younger shots, and as this class of competitor receives a fairly liberal handicap, the. "scratch" man has.to.average a good deal more, than "inners" to get into the prize list. The country clubs are well represented, very strong teams coming from OpakiMasterton, Featherston. Grey town, and Tiihirangi (Pirinoa). Wariganui will also be in strong force. Tile local clubs will be well represented, and competition should be of the highest order. The local men are anxious to return good cards, so that they may earn n. place in the. interclub fixture, -which, is fired on the 31st January. •
