S./Max>;' ■well were each charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day with "on or about 12th August, 1930, and on dates between that and 6th January, being in. Bridge street for the purpose of betting." They were remanded till Friday on bail. Exceptionally heavy rain was experienced last night in the Murehison district. A slip a chain long has fallen, at the Owen River, and another at' Sullivan's Bridge. There is deep water over the Maruia road, and all roads in the area are blocked. Servic* cars from the West Coast were held up at Murehisou.
